State Rep. Ron Robinson (R-Utica) was awarded the Legislator of the Year award last Thursday by the Associated Builders and Contractors of Southeast Michigan (ABC SEMI).
“I am truly honored to be named this year’s ABC SEMI’s Legislator of the Year,” Robinson said. “ABC SEMI & SEMCA have played a major role in building Macomb County and strengthening Michigan’s blue-collar workforce from the ground up, and I’m proud to support their mission. There is a massive demand for skilled trades, both from employers and from the workforce. Places like SEMCA will launch the careers of thousands of young Michiganders who want to start families here in Macomb, putting down roots that can span generations. I could not be more thrilled to be a part of the trades renaissance here in Macomb. I want to give a special thank you to Keith Ledbetter, ABC SEMI/SEMCA’s CEO, for this recognition and for his leadership in advancing the skilled trades.”
“Representative Ron Robinson has been a force for good in District 58 from the moment he took office,” said Keith Ledbetter, President & CEO of ABC SEMI. “His leadership, his partnership and his commitment to bringing real workforce opportunities into his district have already transformed lives. Ron understands the value of the skilled trades and the importance of the merit shop, and his advocacy for SEMCA has created a lasting impact on families, employers, and Michigan’s workforce.”
